If you've decided that a career in the construction industry is something you want to try, your timing is perfect in Alberta. The economy is vibrant here and all projections say it's going to stay that way for several years to come. With a strong economy comes an increase in capital expenditure investment.

What does that mean to you?

A lot of businesses are going to start or grow. Buildings have to be built to house the businesses and the people who work in them. That means there's more work out there than ever, especially in the construction industry which now needs young and skilled workers to replace an aging workforce. This map gives an idea of where the major projects will be in the next few years. The map includes projects valued at over $56 billion. The largest share of investment is in the northeastern Alberta region. It accounts for more than half of the share 
of all construction in Alberta, followed by the Edmonton
 and Calgary regions.
